Chancellor Brian King of Sacramento City College gave a shout out to LibreTexts in the college’s Fall 2019 convocation. Holding a print version of an Oragnic Chemistry LibreText curated by Sac City faculty Dianne Bennet, Chancellor King received an audible gasp from the audience when he told them the book in his hand cost around $10 and was freely available online. The text, which took around 16 faculty five years to curate, has already saved Organic Chemistry students at Sac City over $200,000.
