Greetings, OpenEd advocates! Planning your trip to the Annual OpenEd Conference in Phoenix this year? LibreTexts, in conjunction with Open Active Textbooks (by the Inspark Teaching Network), OpenRN, and the Department of Education, invites you to join us for Reimagining the Textbook, a pre-conference meeting and workshop on October 29.

The workshop will run from 9-5 at the Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel & Spa. Registration is free and all OpenEd attendees are invited to join us for a post-meeting social event at Lola AZ

Hear from each of the awardees of the Department of Education’s Open Textbook Pilot grant as team members discuss:

  • Collaboration & Consortia
    • Dept. of Ed. funding, new consortia, grantee collaboration, how to get involved
  • New Technologies
    • Course builders, customization, VR, simulations, etc.
  • Redefining the textbook
    • Instructor OER use cases

The LibreTexts project will showcase progress on the greater LibreVerse ecosystem (including textbooks, homework, annotation, jupyter Hub and others) and the LibreNet consortium (how institutions get campus wide access to the LibreVerse). Other topics include the formal release of the OER Remixer 2.0 (now you can remix your remix), our new LibreText bookstore (@ 0% margin) for distribution of physical versions of customized texts, and the LibreMaps infrastructure for effective usage of LibreTexts platform for OER programs on campuses.
