Greetings, LibreTexts fans and followers! As our contribution to OpenEd Week this year (March 2-6), the LibreTexts team has put together a schedule of webinars on how faculty from a variety of disciplines are using our platform to create and disseminate open content.
First up, join LibreTexts founder and Executive Director, Delmar Larsen, for “Textbooks are not Tube Socks – One size doesn’t fit all: Using the LibreTexts to Customize your Course Texts.” On March 2 from 9-11 am PT, Delmar will show you how to customize course texts using LibreTexts multifunctional platform.
Also on March 2, Jason Moore and his team present, “How did the chick learn to cross the road?…Through Interactive LibreTexts Pages with Jupyter.” Join Jason and his student team from 1-2 pm PT as they discuss their work integrating Jupyter into LibreTexts.
On March 3, Paul Seeburger (Monroe Community College in Rochester, NY) and Larry Green (Lake Tahoe Community College) present, “Using the LibreTexts Platform to Create Interactive OER Textbooks for Math and Statistics.” Join them from 8-9 am PT as they share their experiences using the LibreTexts platform to customize OpenStax textbooks for Elementary and Intermediate Algebra, Elementary Statistics, and Calculus II and III.
Later on March 3, join Delmar for, “Reimagining the Future of Chemistry Textbooks with LibreTexts,” a webinar/ online presentation hosted by the Department of Chemistry at University of the Pacific from 11-12 PT.
March 4 at 9:30 am PT tune in for Athena Kashyap and Anna Mills from City College San Francisco as they present, “Remixing, Commenting, Revising and Attributing on Libretexts.”
Also on March 4, from 4-5 pm PT join Nancy Ballesteros, Alejandro Lee, and Cristina Moon from Chabot College for, “Libretexts and H5P: How We created a Spanish OER Grammar Manual.”
Wrapping up OpenEd Week 2020, Delmar presents, “Power to the People: Hands on workshop on Adopting and Adapting Libretexts for use in your Classroom,” the inaugural LibreFest meeting hosted by Leeward Community College on March 5 from 9-11:30 Hawai’i time, 11-1:30 PT.
