The second round of Open Textbook Pilot grant funding from the U.S. Department of Education has been awarded to Arizona State University (ASU) and Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) (Wisconsin). ASU’s proposal also includes three partner community college districts: Maricopa in Arizona, Ivy Tech in Indiana, and Miami Dade in Florida. They will also work with Smart Sparrow to support the use of adaptive learning principles to create OER for work-force preparation, or career technical education (CTE), degree programs. CVTC will work with Gateway, Northeast, and Madison Area Technical Colleges to create new OER for nursing programs in order to fill what many in the open education space consider to be an area of need. You can read more about these programs and the second round of Open Textbook Pilot funding on Inside Higher Ed.
