Greetings, Open Ed advocates! As we gear up for the start of a new school year, here at LibreTexts we are starting up our “getting to know the team” series again. First up, Layne Morsch, Associate Professor of Chemistry at University of Illinois, Springfield.
Dr. Layne Morsch received his Ph. D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2002. His teaching has been recognized by the College Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award and the University Burks Oakley II Distinguished Online Teaching Award. Dr. Morsch is an Apple Distinguished Educator and an organic chemistry curator for LibreTexts (OER). His research interests focus on using active learning and collaborative learning in organic chemistry, as well as disciplinary language development utilizing international collaborative student partnerships.
